PHILIPPINE-AMERICAN MAINSTREAM ADVOCACY FOR NON-PARTISAN ASSOCIATIONS, INC. 

History

In April 1998, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Philippine Declaration of Independence, also known as the Philippine Centennial, leaders of the Filipino community established the Filipino Community Centennial Committee of New England, Inc.

In June 2006, recognizing the importance of an annual commemoration of Philippine Independence Day in New England, the organization formally adopted a new name: Philippine American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Associations, Inc. (PAMANA).

Mission

Through serving New England’s Filipino American communities and organizations, PAMANA aims to:

  • Foster cooperation and promote mutual understanding, humility, and equality;

  • Encourage active participation in commemorating Philippine Independence Day;

  • Provide local resource assistance with an altruistic approach, through efforts such as PAMANA Cares;

  • Engage with Filipino American students through programming such as education, leadership development, and community service; and

  • Coordinate relief efforts in response to calamities in the Philippines.
