PAMANA Receives $25,000 Grant from the Boston Foundation to Support Community Engagement and Cultural Outreach

Boston, MA – The Philippine American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Associations, Inc. (PAMANA) announced today it has received a $25,000 Safety Net Grant from the Boston Foundation. The grant provides general operating support to strengthen PAMANA’s efforts in uniting Filipino American organizations and delivering meaningful community programs across New England.

“This grant will help us continue our mission of bringing people together through service, culture, and civic engagement,” said Jelyn Masa, Board Chair of PAMANA. “We are incredibly grateful to the Boston Foundation for recognizing the importance of our work.”

As part of its ongoing outreach, PAMANA leads PAMANA CARES, a community initiative that provides Filipino grocery care packages to individuals and families experiencing hardship. These packages not only help meet immediate food needs but also offer the comforting sense of “home” through culturally familiar ingredients and flavors. So far this year, PAMANA has delivered 63 care packages across the region.

PAMANA also plays a vital role in sharing the Filipino culture with the community in Massachusetts, particularly through its annual Philippine Independence Day events. This year’s celebrations include a vibrant outdoor festival and parade in Attleboro on June 7, a flag raising ceremony at Boston City Hall on June 12, and a formal gala in Natick on June 22.

Funds for this grant come from the Boston Foundation’s Permanent Fund for Boston, an endowed pool of resources built over more than a century by generous contributors committed to helping Greater Boston thrive. Each year, the Boston Foundation distributes over $15 million in discretionary grants through a competitive process designed to empower nonprofits serving historically marginalized populations.
