(Boston, Mass.) – The Philippine-American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Associations, Inc. (PAMANA) has received a grant of $2,500 from the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, through its Festivals & Projects Program.
This grant signifies that PAMANA, Inc. provides significant public value through its programs and services. The organization is dedicated to fostering collaboration and unity among Filipino American organizations in the New England region. "Our annual festival and gala to mark Philippine Independence Day have become a cornerstone for the Filipino American community in New England," said Jelyn Masa, PAMANA Board Chair. "These events not only celebrate our rich heritage and culture but also bring together generations of Filipinos and friends from across the region. The support from the Mass Cultural Council allows us to continue this tradition, deepening our community connections and ensuring that our culture thrives in the diaspora."
For this fiscal year, Mass Cultural Council has adopted a $34 million spending plan, allowing the Agency to award at least 2,500 grants totaling approximately $38 million to the Commonwealth’s creative and cultural sector. This is funded primarily through public dollars, including the Agency’s $26.7 million state budget appropriation and support from the National Endowment for the Arts. The agency also runs the Mass Cultural Facilities Fund in partnership with MassDevelopment.
Mass Cultural Council funds reach every community in the Commonwealth. Its mission is to advance the Commonwealth’s creative and cultural sector by celebrating traditions and talents, championing its collective needs, and equitably investing public resources.
